About the program

Universidad ORT Uruguay has signed student exchange agreements with a number of universities (List of Partner Universities) . This page applies to students from those universities. If you are a student from another university and want to come to ORT for your study abroad, please .


Exchange Students

If you have been selected by your home institution to apply to study at Universidad ORT Uruguay within an exchange agreement you will find in this page the information that you need about the program, including the requirements for admission, information about courses, visas, and other data that you may require.

All exchange students should be enrolled full- time with access to all services; they have access to all academic programs and courses, subject to university regulations.


About the language

All classes are taught in Spanish by native professors employed by the University. International students must show fluency in Spanish for academic purposes.


Permanent support

Universidad ORT Uruguay provides a permanent on-site coordinator who will:

Act as a permanent reference for students

Advise about classes, cultural opportunities, communications, getting around, and answer questions about local issues.

Be in charge of an induction program to provide initial orientation.

Serve as a liaison with Universidad ORT Uruguay.


How to apply

You must apply at your university (International Office or Student Exchange Units) which will officially send your application and support to our university. Following receipt of these forms, we will review your application and upon acceptance, you will be notified.


Course Registration for International Students

Once you have been nominated by your home university to study at Universidad ORT Uruguay our Office will contact you and send you all relevant information about courses and application forms. Our Office will connect you with an academic from Universidad ORT, who will advise you in the selection of courses.

It is important to consider that Universidad ORT cannot guarantee spaces in specific courses.


Credit and credit transfer

Universidad ORT Uruguay will issue a transcript featuring the course number and title, grade and credit hours completed. Sealed transcripts are sent directly from the University to the student's home institution.

Students will be able to transfer the credits earned in Universidad ORT. However they should check with their academic advisor at their home universities and have him/her fill out the pre-departure class selection form on the program application.


Orientation

To help you make a smooth transition to Uruguayan life, you will receive orientation from the Program Coordinator. You will: participate in a city tour. participate in a tour of the campus; learn about the program's social and recreational activities; learn about cross-cultural adaptation, learn how to use the bus system.

Student Services

University ID Card: The University will issue you a university ID card that will give you access to all facilities on campus.

Computer Lab: The University offers you computer access, free word processing, Internet and email access at several computer labs throughout campus.

Library: You will have access to all the libraries on campus.
