21 Universidad ORT Uruguay February, the School of Communication completed the renovation of its audiovisual complex (TV studio, control rooms, and post-production suites) with the installation of the latest Sony High Definition system, keeping pace with trends in the audiovisual industry. It is the first institution in Uruguay—and one of the first in the region—to incorporate this technology into its courses. In March, academic activities began in the Biotechnology Laboratory, equipped to work with the main techniques used in the discipline. has for 20 people (faculty and students) to work simultaneously, with their own personal equipment, additional areas for shared equipment, culture rooms, and DNA and RNA amplification rooms. It also features a room for working with fermenters and large-scale equipment, as well as two fume hoods for chemical work, four fume hoods for cell and bacterial cultures, and an area specially designed for research.
