He presented the paper “Dynamics of heterogeneous peer-to-peer networks,” co-authored with Martín Zubeldía, M.S., Research Assistant in the MATE (Mathematics Applied to Telecommunications) group at the faculty, and Dr. Andrés Ferragut, Associate Professor in the Data Networks Area, at the “52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control,” organized by the IEEE Control Systems Society, Florence, December 10–13. Sebastián Ayala (Mexico), Associate Academic Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Systems. He participated in the “Ibero-American Congress on Special Educational Informatics,” where he presented a project on technologies applied to healthcare, specifically for people with intellectual and physical disabilities, linked to the topic of his Master’s thesis in Engineering (Research Track), Ensenada, Baja California, July 29–August 2. Dr. Gerardo Matturro (Paraguay) Research Professor in the Department of Software Engineering. He taught a course on knowledge management and its application in Software Engineering as part of the activities for the 2013 edition of the Regional School on Information and Communication Technologies, National University of Asunción, September 23–27. Dr. Santiago Matalonga (Peru) Research Professor in Software Engineering. He led the workshop “Empirical Software Engineering and Its Application to a Research Program on Technical Debt,” co-authored with Dr. Martín Solari, Associate Professor of Software Engineering at the faculty, Arequipa, October 7–9. In addition, he presented the paper “Technical Debt: A Study of the Impact of Metaphor Use in Reflections on Agile Methodologies” at the “1st International Congress on Systems Engineering,” held at the Autonomous University of Peru, Lima, November 21–23. A/P Víctor Paulós (United Kingdom) Academic Secretary of the School of Technology. He visited the University of Edinburgh to work with the Distance Learning team on the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) project, May 6–10. Ernesto Copello, Eng. (Venezuela) Research Teaching Assistant in the CompuTE group at the School of Engineering and graduate of the Master’s in Engineering (research track). He presented his thesis, “Session Type Inference,” at the “39th Latin American Conference on Computer Science (CLEI 2013),” organized by the Latin American Center for Computer Science Studies, Naiguatá, Vargas, October 7–11.
