He delivered the lecture “Queueing and fluid analysis of M/G processor sharing systems motivated by P2P networks” at Stochastic Networks 2014, organized by the National Research Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science Centrum Wiskunde & Informatika (CWI), Amsterdam, June 23–27. Gastón Mousqués, B.S. (Honduras) Professor of Software Engineering. He led the Training of Trainers workshop on Design Thinking at the Technological University of Honduras, as part of the Avanza knowledge transfer project that the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is carrying out with the Technological University of Honduras, San Pedro Sula, February 18–23. Dr. Ángela Cabezas (Mexico) Professor in the Biotechnology Department. She presented the articles “Microbial community analysis of a full-scale winery wastewater treatment system,” co-authored with Agustina Ziliani, Gustavo Ochoa, and Guadalupe Paolino, and “Isolation and characterization of Uruguayan native strains of Bacillus thuringiensis,” co-authored with Dr. Lorena Betancor, a research professor in Biotechnology, Mag. Carlos Sanguinetti, academic coordinator of Biotechnology, Alfonso García Pintos, and Natalia Scioscia at the 4th International Symposium on Environmental Biotechnology and Engineering, Mexico City, September 9–12. Juan Michelini (Netherlands) Professor of Computer Science Fundamentals. He presented the papers “Course on a mathematical presentation of functional programming,” co-authored with Dr. Álvaro Tasistro, professor of Computer Science at the faculty, and Dr. Nora Szasz, academic coordinator of Systems Engineering, and “Calculational presentation of propositional tableaux,” co-authored with Dr. Tasistro, at the 3rd International Workshop on Trends in Functional Programming in Education (TFPIE 2014), organized by Utrecht University, Soesterberg, May 25–28. Dr. Gerardo Matturro (Paraguay) Research Professor in the Department of Software Engineering. He delivered the lecture “Knowledge Management in Software Engineering” and participated in a research project on the Usability of the Comprehensive Hospital Management System at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Asunción, March 24–28. Álvaro Sánchez, Eng. (Paraguay) Associate Professor in the Data Networks area. He participated as a peer evaluator and coordinator of the Peer Review Committee in the evaluation of the Industrial Engineering program at the National University of Pilar, November 10–12.
