They spoke at the presentation of the children’s opera Brundibár, composed during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, which was performed on July 8 and 9 at the Sodre National Auditorium, July 2. Dr. Alberto Spectorowski (Israel) Professor of Political Theory and Comparative Politics at Tel Aviv University. Participated in the roundtable “120 Years Since the Dreyfus Affair” at the ORT Space during the 12th Punta del Este Jewish Film Festival, February 8. Delivered the lectures “Israel, the United States, Iran, and the New Strategic Equation in the Middle East,” June 24, “Elections in Israel in an Unstable Political System. What is the future for Netanyahu’s new government?” on June 25, “Anti-Semitism of yesterday, anti-Semitism of today. Similarities and differences” on June 29, and “Europe between anti-Semitism and Islamophobia” on June 30. Dr. Gustavo Perednik (Israel) Visiting Professor in the Department of Jewish Studies. He delivered the lecture “Psychoanalysis of Dreyfus, by Patrick Modiano, and of Renewed Judeophobia,” at the ORT Space of the 12th Punta del Este Jewish Film Festival, February 9. He presented his books Since the Eichmann Trial: On Nazism, the Shoah, and Their Trivialization, February 10, and Sabra: Alone Against an Empire, co-authored with writer Marcos Aguinis, at the ORT Space of the 12th Punta del Este Jewish Film Festival, February 11. He delivered the lectures “The Hebrew Language in Civilization,” July 28, and “Anti-Semitism in Art and Literature,” July 30.
