139 ACTIVITIES OF THE CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (CIE) 2015 The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) aims to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among students and strengthen ties between entrepreneurs and the business sector. In 2015, 26 business ideas were submitted to the CIE. The startups Al Toque, Artesanía Pastelera, Cápita, City Cop, Colectate, Golden Bite, Ionic, Merchandar, Recicla, SQ AdMobile, Te Proveo, Tierra Nueva, and Rural Uy underwent a rapid maturation process, establishing themselves as companies. The startups 1000 razones, Al Toque, Cápita, City Cop, Colectate, Idatha, Mejor lo Alquilo, SIM Design, SQ Ad Mobile, and Te Proveo received angel investment from private investors or the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII). In 2015, the CIE organized the workshops "Entrepreneurial DNA," "Idea Generation," "Successful Strategies for Thriving Companies," and "Leadership & Art," as well as outreach and networking activities through the "Entrepreneurs in Network" series, where entrepreneurs and institutions within the entrepreneurial ecosystem share experiences and build connections. It developed 48 activities aimed at raising awareness among young people and motivating their entrepreneurial spirit, reaching more than 1,000 university students. NOTABLE STARTUPS IN 2015 GPSGAY, Founders: Rosario Monteverde, a graduate in Systems Engineering, and Magdalena Rodríguez, a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. It won the first prize awarded by the public at the Mobile Premier Awards 2015 competition, held in Barcelona. ViperMed. Entrepreneur: Ignacio Oliveri, graduate of the Bachelor’s in Systems. The newspaper El Observador, in its Emprendo competition, selected ViperMed as one of the most innovative startups of the year. Cindy Kleist. Entrepreneur: Cindy Kleist, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design. It won the 2015 Morosoli Bronze Award for Fashion Design. AZ Sportech. Entrepreneurs: Krikor Attarian and Stefano Zammarell, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Systems. It signed an agreement with CONMEBOL as the official data and technology provider for the Uruguayan national soccer team at the 2015 Copa América in Chile.
