(Austria) Graduate of the Biotechnology program and member of the Biotechnology Research Team. Erienne Jackson, B.S. (Austria) Research assistant at the Biotechnology Laboratory. They presented the papers “Nanoimmobilized lipase for the synthesis of ethyl esters from vegetable oil” 2 and “Immobilized enzymatic assembly line for the synthesis of alpha hydroxy acids” 3 at the 12th Biotrans 2015 conference, organized by the Vienna University of Technology and the Austrian Centre for Industrial Biotechnology, Vienna, July 26–31. Dr. Santiago Matalonga (Brazil) Research Professor in Software Engineering. He conducted a research stay as part of the project “Context-aware software testing for ubiquitous systems” at the Graduate and Research Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in the Experimental Software Engineering Group, from February 2 to March 31. Ernesto Copello, Eng. (Brazil) Lecturer in Computer Theory. He presented the paper “Alpha-structural induction and recursion for the lambda calculus in constructive type theory” at NAT@Logic 2015: 10th Workshop on Logical and Semantic Frameworks with Applications, organized by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, August 31 and September 1. Dr. Santiago Matalonga (Chile) Research Professor in Software Engineering. He participated as an associate researcher on the project “Evaluation of secure software architectures” at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, June 29–July 3. 2 Conducted together with Mag. Mariana Ferrari, coordinator of the Biotechnology Laboratory; Dr. Lorena Betancor, research professor of Biotechnology; Dr. Claudia Bernal, researcher at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso; and Dr. Lorena Wilson, director of Graduate Programs at the School of Biochemical Engineering of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile. 3 Conducted in collaboration with Dr. Lorena Betancor; Dr. Fernando López Gallego, member of the Center for Cooperative Research in Biomaterials, Spain; Dr. José Manuel Guisán; and Alejandro Herrera, members of the Spanish National Research Council’s Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry, Spain. 4 Conducted in collaboration with Dr. Álvaro Tasistro, Professor of Computer Science; Dr. Nora Szasz, academic coordinator of Systems Engineering; Dr. Ana Bove, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology; and Dr. Maribel Fernández, professor in the Department of Computer Science at King’s College London.
