13 La Casa Uruguaya awarded the National Energy Efficiency Award in the Buildings category. La Casa Uruguaya, designed by students and faculty from all of the university’s schools, was recognized on November 30, 2016, in the Buildings category of the National Energy Efficiency Award, organized annually by the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining. This award aims to highlight projects nationwide that make efficient use of energy. This recognition adds to the one received in late 2015, when La Casa Uruguaya the 2015 Solar Decathlon Latin America and the Caribbean international competition, which took place in Colombia.
