96 2016 Yearbook Dr. Norma Pontet (Peru) Professor of Management Accounting and Coordinator of Finance Programs. She made an academic visit to the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, where she gave a presentation titled “Projected Income Statements and Balance Sheets. Operational Funding Needs” as part of the III Specialization Diploma in Management Accounting, and delivered the lecture “Innovative Cost Analysis: Smart Decision-Making,” Lima, September 8 and 9. She attended the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) Conference, invited by the Board of Directors of the Inter-American Accounting Association (AIC) in her capacity as secretary of the AIC Accounting Research Commission, Lima, November 3 and 4. Dr. Juan José Barrios (Portugal) Associate Academic Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He presented the article “Capitalism in Uruguay” at the 7th Annual Conference on Political Economy, organized by the International Initiative for Promoting Political Economy (IIPPE), Lisbon, September 7–9. 21 Conducted together with Santiago Acerenza, Research Assistant in the Department of Economics.
