18 2017 Yearbook NEW DEGREES AND COURSES 2017 School of Engineering Specialization Diploma in Big Data Analytics (1 year) This graduate program aims to equip university professionals with the technical skills needed to solve complex problems in a world of big data and to provide the knowledge necessary to ensure they can adapt to technological changes. The courses are organized into three areas: Data Analysis studies models and techniques for intelligent data analysis; Systems analyzes the theoretical and practical concepts of databases and software architectures used for the storage and processing of large volumes of data; and Information Management addresses the management and governance of large volumes of data within an organization. Electrical Engineering (5 years) This program trains professionals to plan and design facilities of any size for the generation, transmission, and use of electrical energy. The curriculum places special emphasis on power systems, network theory, electromechanical equipment, electrical installations, rational energy use, the use of clean and renewable energy sources, and their economic optimization. Graduates can design and maintain power facilities and auxiliary communications and control systems, analyze and manage Smart Grids, and negotiate energy purchase and supply contracts.
