25 BUILDING NEWS 2017 In November 2017, the official inauguration of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Center (CBI+I) took place. Its main objective is to promote research directly linked to industry. It includes an analytical technologies laboratory, biosafety-compliant culture rooms, a fermentation room, a protein purification room, and an area for washing and preparing materials, all equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The CBI+I has Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC) system, the only one of its kind in our country, which allows for the purification of proteins on a laboratory scale and the development of pilot-scale purification processes.
