127 AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS 2019 Matías Eustathiou, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and a faculty member in the Department of International Studies, was appointed Consul General of Uruguay in Chicago. November. Sebastián Álvarez, Manuel Lorenzo y Losada, and Guillermo Mordezki, students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Administration, They received scholarships from programme Emerging Leaders in the Americas programme by the Canadian government, through which they will spend a semester on exchange at Université Laval in Canada. July. Paula Mosera, a graduate of the Public Accounting program, and Fiorella Santo, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies. They received Chevening scholarships offered by the UK government to pursue graduate studies at British universities. Mosera is pursuing a Master’s in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the London School of Economics, and Santo is pursuing a Master’s in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Huddersfield. August. Martín Regueiro, a student in the Commercial Management Technician program and assistant at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE). He received the only scholarship available in Uruguay to participate in Babson College’s Babson Build for Santander Universities Students program, which aims to train young people from around the world in entrepreneurial skills in the United States. July. School of Architecture La Casa Uruguaya, designed by students and faculty from all schools of the university. It was selected by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as one of four innovative solutions developed in Latin America that could change the world, during the fourth UN Environment Assembly held in Nairobi, Kenya. March. Lucía Amacoria, a student in the Interior Design Technician program. She won first prize in the Rincón del Diseño competition organized by the Association of Interior Designers of Uruguay (ADDIP), which consisted of a design intervention at the Sweetie Boutique Bakery café.
