24 2020 Yearbook DEVELOPMENT OF THE LIBRARY COLLECTION IN 2020 The Library System is strengthening its digital initiatives to support the increasingly virtual educational environment in response to the COVID-19 health emergency. We have expanded our collections of subscribed e-books and added electronic titles from various publishers purchased on a perpetual basis. We facilitate remote access to all contracted digital resources, databases, and academic platforms. The university provides access to the following bibliographic databases for use by students, faculty, and researchers: E-books For the second consecutive year, we have subscribed to Pearson’s complete collection in Spanish, with over 800 titles offering unlimited access for both online reading and downloading to devices. The VitalSource platform is compatible with iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, Chromebook, and Kindle Fire. The collection includes numerous required reading texts for the university’s various degree programs. Texts from Cengage and Norton have been added to this platform. We have subscribed to the ProQuest Ebook Central platform, to which titles purchased in perpetuity are continuously added. Additionally, titles were acquired under the same terms through the EBSCO platform. We also have temporary access to the EBSCO eBook Academic Collection, featuring 190,000 titles from publishers such as Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and Sage. Through an intuitive research platform, EBSCO’s databases provide researchers and students with thousands of full-text academic journals, as well as access to major subject indexes. A package comprising five databases: Business Source Premier, EconLit, Professional Development Collection, and Art & Architectural Source. They provide unlimited access to peer-reviewed publications on topics in management, business, economics, finance, social sciences, art, and architecture, and, to a lesser extent, education, history, literature, and psychology. It also offers tools for citing in various formats and exporting documents. It includes full-text access from a single platform to thousands of articles from specialized journals, newspapers, working papers, conference papers, and case studies. It provides students and researchers with tools for citing in different styles, saving searches, and exporting documents to reference managers. It covers the fields of administration, business, humanities, social sciences, education, science, and technology, among others.
