63 IndoorEx: Platform for optimizing marketing strategies based on indoor positioning Authors: Gerardo Daghero, Matías Giglio, and Federico Rodríguez Yañez Organization: Wasabi Marketing Digital - Nuevocentro Shopping This project consists of a platform that provides real-time statistics to facilitate the development of marketing strategies tailored to the needs of each business in large retail establishments. It involves the development of two mobile applications and a web platform with specific functionalities for different users. On one hand, the user application detects, using Bluetooth technology, devices called beacons for indoor user positioning and sends that data to the backend. On the other hand, the administrator user application provides the necessary functionality to manage beacons on-site using a floor plan of the establishment. In practice, when a user approaches a beacon, the app delivers relevant information based on their preferences via push notifications and feeds about promotions and events. The system also features a web-based back office that allows administrators to manage information shared with visiting users, view statistics, and visualize real-time data through a heat map. Although the project is focused on commercial establishments, the system architecture design allows it to be adapted to other types of businesses, such as museums and stadiums. It arose from a business need proposed by Moon Ideas, a company dedicated to the planning, design, development, and maintenance of construction software systems, which investigated various forms of building management and proposed a more automated and practical management system for all stakeholders. The goal was to consider effective solutions from the perspective of the building manager as well as the apartment owners and tenants, thereby creating synergy. To ensure the quality of both the process and the product, the team conducted various reviews, validations, and verifications, and relied on user testing following the philosophy of user-centered design. To manage the project, an agile approach was used, supported by Scrum practices and events, with two-week iterations, which allowed for greater control over the project. As a result, it was possible to deliver a product that meets the client’s expectations. Major: Systems Engineering Advisor: Marcelo Cagnani, B.S. STUDENT PROJECTS WITH EXTERNAL ORGANIZATIONS 2020
