The project was funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and involved developing a methodology to quantify knowledge spillovers, as measured by the adoption of information and communication technologies in the services sector.
The study demonstrates the existence of vertical spillover effects but not horizontal ones, as well as a positive and significant contribution from service firms located in free trade zones.
