71 Universidad ORT Uruguay 2010 Gustavo Wojciechowski, Florentina Pérez Ferrando, and Sebastián Pérez Traverso—students in the Digital Animation Technician program—were part of the team that won First Prize in the Broadcast category of the "PSAid Contest" for their short film "Helping Hands," alongside students from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). The PSAid Contest is a nationwide competition in the United States for public service announcements sponsored by the Center for International Disaster Information. February. Award for Academic and Professional Achievement in Design at the “5th Latin American Design Conference” organized by the University of Palermo, Buenos Aires. July. 2010 Award for Graphic Merit and Editorial Effort, granted by the Uruguayan Book Chamber. December. Alfonso Lessa, Professor at the School of Communication. He received the Bartolomé Hidalgo Award, organized by the Uruguayan Book Chamber, in the political and/or journalistic essay category for his work “La primera orden.” October.
