7 Universidad ORT Uruguay of the School of Design’s New Building On October 18, the inauguration of the School of Design’s new building, located at the corner of Cuareim and Mercedes, took place. The project received support from Punta Carretas Shopping as part of its commitment to fostering new talent in the fields of fashion and design. Speakers included the Minister of Education and Culture, Dr. Ricardo Ehrlich; the Rector , Dr. Jorge Grünberg; and the Executive Director of Punta Carretas Shopping, Cr. Mario Garbarino. The General Director, Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg, together with the Minister of Education and Culture, performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the inauguration, www.ort.edu.uy/fcd/inauguracionescueladiseno Accreditation of Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering within the Mercosur framework The Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering programs were accredited within the ARCU-SUR system, a mechanism for accrediting university programs to ensure regional recognition of academic quality within MERCOSUR.
