8 2011 Yearbook Academic Presentation of the International Animation Program Attended by the President of CalArts On November 17, the Faculty of Communication and Design hosted the presentation of the International Animation Program, a project has academic has with the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). The presentation was attended by the President of CalArts, Dr. Steven Lavine. The objective of this program is to strengthen the production of digital animations and video games in our country for export. Within this framework, the faculty has been offering the Bachelor’s Degree in Animation and Video Games since 2010, a four-year university program. Speakers included the President of ANII (National Agency for Research and Innovation), Dr. Rodolfo Silveira; Dr. Steven Lavine; the President of Indunor, Mr. Pedro N. Baridon; and the former U.S. Ambassador to Uruguay, Ambassador Frank Baxter. The Director General, Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg, together with Mr. Baridon, unveiled a plaque in recognition of Indunor and its President for their support of this educational project. Mr. Pedro N.
