Selected to participate in the “Education Without Borders” conference, held from March 28 to April 1 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This conference, held every two years, aims to build networks across different cultures to understand and develop solutions to the world’s major challenges. April. Macarena Diab, Alejandro Mongrell, and Florencia Quinteros. Students in the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies. They received a scholarship to participate in the Institute for Leadership in the Americas program, which took place at the Universidad de los Andes in Santiago, Chile, from January 10 to 21, organized by The Fund for American Studies. January. Guzmán Castro. Graduate of the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies. He received the Benjamin Franklin Fellowship to pursue his doctoral studies in the Department of Political Science (Specialization in International Relations) at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. June. Julieta Falero, a student in the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies. Awarded a scholarship by Chung Ang University in South Korea to participate in an exchange program at that university during the second academic semester of 2011. July. Anaclara Acuña, Jonathan Arriola, Macarena Diab, Guillermo Fremd, Andrea Lacuesta, and Ignacio Piloni Undergraduate students in International Studies. They received the Emerging Leaders in the Americas programme scholarship programme the Canadian government to spend an academic semester at a Canadian university. August. Finalists in the “La casa Divino” competition: Mauricio Otero, Santiago Dalto, and Erika Antúnez. School of Architecture. Erika Antúnez, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design program, was the winner of the “La casa Divino” competition. November. AWARDS 2011
