45 Universidad ORT Uruguay INITIATED IN 2012 School of Business and Social Sciences Advances in Industrial Economics and Social Networks in Economics The project’s objective is structured around two subprojects: “The analysis of organization and incentives for the generation of new knowledge and its dissemination” and “How does a cartel operate?: an approach based on social network analysis.” The use of analytical tools based on Graph Theory and Social Networks allows for the analysis of these two seemingly disparate issues in economic theory from a common perspective. Principal Investigator: Flavia Roldán, Faculty Member and Researcher, Department of Economics, Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences Funding: National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) Duration: 24 months Alfa III Education Institute - Access to and Academic Success of Vulnerable Groups in High-Risk Environments in Latin America The project’s objective is to improve access to, retention in, and graduation from university for vulnerable groups at risk of social exclusion in Latin America. Ten Latin American countries and three European countries are participating in this project. Project Leader: María Inés Vázquez, Academic Coordinator of Educational Management. Funding: European Commission (EC) Duration: 36 months Study of teaching practices and professional teaching skills within the framework of educational inclusion policies in Uruguay The project aims to promote improvements in teaching practices and professional teaching skills necessary to address the challenges of educational inclusion in highly socially vulnerable environments in primary education. Project Leaders: María Inés Vázquez, Academic Coordinator of Educational Management, and Eduardo Rodríguez, Professor of Case Studies and Methods in Educational Research, Institute of Education. Funding: National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) Duration: 12 months
