64 2014 Yearbook 2014 OUTREACH ACTIVITIES Jewish Studies Teacher Training Course - The Shoah: The Human Condition and Memory The Department of Jewish Studies organized the fourth edition of the course *The Shoah: The Human Condition and Memory*, which was attended by secondary school teachers and educators from the non-formal education sector. The course, which took place from July 22 to August 14, aims to introduce teachers to relevant aspects of the Shoah (Jewish Holocaust) and concepts such as human rights, genocide, and memory. It was declared of Ministerial Interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture and received support from the Secondary Education Council. “Simon Wiesenthal” Library on the Shoah On September 16, the Holocaust Remembrance Center of Uruguay inaugurated the “Simon Wiesenthal” library, specializing in the subject of the Shoah. The library project was sponsored by Universidad ORT Uruguay guidance for its creation and training for its staff. This project was supported by the Embassy of Canada, the Embassy of Germany, and the Claims Conference.
