Dr. Fernando Paganini (United States) Professor of Telecommunications Theory. He delivered the seminar “Population and download dynamics in peer-to-peer file sharing with heterogeneity” at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University, New York, March 17–18. He presented the paper “Decision making in forward power markets with supply and demand uncertainty,” co-authored with Dr. Pablo Belzarena and Dr. Pablo Monzón, at the Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, held at Princeton University, March 19–21. He delivered the presentation “Controlling the Internet in the era of Software-Defined and Virtualized Networks” at the CDS20 workshop, organized by the Control and Dynamical Systems (CDS) program at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), California, August 5–7. He presented the paper “Monotonicity and global stability in download dynamics of content-sharing networks,” co-authored with Dr. Andrés Ferragut, at the 53rd Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Conference on Decision and Control, Los Angeles, December 15–17.
