63 RESEARCH OR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS INITIATED OR APPROVED IN 2015 Trade effects of technical requirements and sanitary and phytosanitary measures: methodological proposal, estimation, and lessons The objective of this project is to develop a methodological strategy to quantify the positive and negative trade effects of technical requirements and sanitary and phytosanitary standards on Latin American countries. Funding: Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (Intal) and South American Network for Applied Economics (Redsur) Duration: six months Institute of Education Educators in the Digital Age: Learning to Teach with Technologies in the Initial Training of Secondary School Teachers in Uruguay The objective of the project is to contribute to improving the quality of teaching and learning in initial teacher training through the incorporation of digital technologies. The study is being conducted as part of a collaborative project between the University of Seville (Spain) and Universidad ORT Uruguay. Funding: National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) Duration: 12 months Start Year: 2016 What Now? ICTs in Primary Education: Can We Build a Collective Capacity? This project aims to co-create knowledge with various stakeholders involved in the educational process: opinion leaders, partner institutions, governments, school administrators, teachers, students, and other community members interested in educational improvement. The project encourages reflection on the visions and new roles that information and communication technologies (ICT) present for primary education within the framework of the Ceibal Plan.
