69 OUTREACH ACTIVITIES 2015 Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Santander Innovation 2015 As part of Banco Santander’s global innovation process, Banco Santander Uruguay selected the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) to serve as a facilitator for the new strategic guidelines promoted by the group. To achieve the proposed objective, the CIE worked alongside the bank’s change management team, utilizing the Design Thinking methodology. The project was led by Enrique Topolansky, CIE coordinator. Emprendetón Entrepreneurship Marathon The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, CPA Innovation, and the Da Vinci Foundation launched the Emprendetón competition in September, with the goal of presenting solutions to challenges posed by companies in three sectors: healthcare, finance, and agriculture. Sponsors include the Spanish Association, IBM, Banco Santander, the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), and the National Meat Institute (INAC). Faculty of Engineering XV ORT Programming Contest As part of the 18th Student Conference of the Faculty of Engineering, held on September 2, the XV ORT Programming Contest took place. The top three finishers in the competition represented Uruguay in the Latin American Final of the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Programming Contest, which took place in Buenos Aires on November 14. The team consisting of Andrés Canabarro, Gianfranco Papa, and Federico Zaiter, Systems Engineering students, ranked 103rd (top 6%); the team composed of Kevin Chacón, Federico Ruiz, and Federico Silberstein, Systems Engineering students, placed 110th (top 7%); and the team composed of Bruno Ferrari, Pablo Morales, and Diego Zuluaga, Systems Engineering students, placed 213rd (top 13%). A total of 1,611 teams from 22 countries participated in the Latin American competition. Dr. Ines Kereki and Engineer Andrés de Sosa with the three teams that participated in the Latin American finals of the ACM competition.
