70th Annual Report 2015 10th ICT Job Fair On September 2, the Graduate Affairs Office of the School of Engineering organized the 10th ICT Job Fair, which was designated as an event of educational interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The purpose of this event is to connect students and graduates with the job market. A total of 29 companies and organizations participated, including Adecco, Ernest & Young Uruguay, Fábricas Nacionales de Cerveza, Gallito.com, Genexus, Geocom, Globant, IEEE Uruguay, Integración AFAP, Manpower, Mercado Libre, Moove-IT, Netsuite, PedidosYa, Pronto!, Quanam, República AFAP, Sabre, and Tata Consultancy Services. Camino TICs The Camino TICs project offers full scholarships for technical degree programs in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Its goal is to provide technical training to young people from low-income households. In 2015, 31 candidates applied, of whom 16 were selected. The support network consists of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI), the Rotary Club of Aguada, and Universidad ORT Uruguay. The project is 50% funded by the university’s student scholarship program, and the other 50% by the companies and institutions Bantotal, CSI Ingenieros, Equipo, Fundación Itaú, Gallito.com, Montevideo Shopping, and Unión Capital AFAP.
