Her poster, “Use of Immobilized Nanobiocatalysts for the Chemo-enzymatic Synthesis of Butirosin B,” won the award for best poster at the 10th Latin American Biotechnology Course held at the School of Biochemical Engineering of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso. July. She also received a scholarship from the EMHE-CSIC (Enhancing Mobility between Latin America, the Caribbean, and the European Union Health and Environment) program for an internship at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). August. Rosario Monteverde, a graduate in Systems Engineering, and Magdalena Rodríguez, a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. Their GPS Gay app won first place in the Startup Nation for Women Entrepreneurs competition organized by the Israeli Embassy and Endeavor. July. Alan Bukstein and Alejandro Tocar, Systems Engineering students, and Lorena Jinchuk and Simón Seitune, Systems Engineering graduates. Their startup Sagal was the winner of the Uruguayan edition of the eCommerce StartUp Competition. August. Diego Areosa, Dan Blanco, Gastón Donadío, Nicolás Fernández, Agustín Rodríguez, Emiliano Rodríguez, and Jimena Silveira, Systems Engineering students; Maximiliano Peszano, a Systems Engineering undergraduate student; and Maximiliano Pereira, an Animation and Video Games undergraduate student. Their team, Koba, was the winner of the Innovation category at the Latin American Innovation Rally, organized by the Center for Innovation in Engineering, which brings together the engineering schools.
