Their #DondeGo challenge won first prize at Campus Party, a global event focused on technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, held in Buenos Aires. October. Gustavo Aprá and José Ignacio Monetta, Telecommunications Engineering students; Agustín Arena, Maximiliano Casal, and Gonzalo Gutiérrez, Systems Engineering students; Sebastián Bardacosta, Telecommunications Engineering graduate; Richard Caetano and Rodrigo Pesce, Systems Engineering graduates; Federico Gómez, Systems Engineering student. The final-year project AgroBeep by Arena, Casal, and Gutiérrez won first prize from the National Academy of Engineering in the category of Final-Year Projects in Computer Science. December. Additionally, the project “Analytics Applied to the Care and Monitoring of Children Up to 3 Years Old” by Caetano, Gómez, and Pesce received an Honorable Mention in Computer Science. December. Furthermore, the project “¡Tuya, Héctor! Technical Skills Training System for Soccer Players in Electronics” by Aprá, Bardacosta, and Monetta received an Honorable Mention in Electronics. December. Sonali Correa, research assistant at the Biotechnology Laboratory. Her poster “HRP Nanocatalysts for Direct Enzyme Therapy” won the award for Best Poster Presentation at the II Latin American Symposium on Biocatalysis and Biotransformations, organized by the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of the Republic and the Department of Biotechnology at Universidad ORT Uruguay. December. Inés Tiscornia, deputy coordinator of the Biotechnology Laboratory. Her monologue “The Biotechnology Behind Compost” won second prize at the Science Slam Festival, a scientific monologue competition held as part of Science, Technology, and Innovation Week, organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Open Science Forum and BigVan.
