René Fuentes, professor of Creative Writing. He received the Blas de Otero - Villa de Bilbao International Poetry Prize in Spanish for his unpublished poetry collection Guitarra del mesón. December. Furthermore, he won the First National Literature Prize at the 2016 Literary Awards, organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture, in the Published Poetry category, for the book Caballo que ladra. Additionally, he received an Honorable Mention for the work Extranja in the Unpublished Poetry category. December. Likewise, his work Periplo cerrado won the 2016 Juan C. Onetti Literary Prize in the Poetry category. Additionally, he received a second mention in the Drama category for his play Un gaucho, dos gauchos, treinta y tres gauchos. September.
