117 Pablo Scutari, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies. The short film *Fuimos y somos*, directed by Scutari, won the award for Best Uruguayan Short Film at the eighth edition of the LatinUy Festival—the International Festival of Latin American, Uruguayan, and Brazilian Cinema—held in Punta del Este in November. Rocío Llambí, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies, and Mariana Winarz, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies. Their short film *La piscina* received a Special Mention in the Uruguayan Short Film Competition at the 34th Uruguay International Film Festival. April. Ignazio Acerenza and Valentina Lambach, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies, Laura Alario, Gonzalo Ansa, Luciano Demarco, Joaquín Díaz, and Clementina González, students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies. The Mar Film Festival Mar a Special Prize for the screening of their short films: Los Asesinos, Liu Xia Lai, Ventanas rotas, Videochat, and Intervalo. July. Gerardo Castelli, academic coordinator of Audiovisual Studies and a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies, and Mercedes Dominioni, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies. The documentary El creador de universos, produced by Castelli and directed by Dominioni, won one of the five documentary awards presented by the Tribeca Film Institute, Latin America Fund. February. Gastón Armagno, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies; Carolina Campo and Dina Kaganovicius, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies; and María Victoria Pena, a graduate of the Audiovisual Production Technician program. Their audiovisual projects—Tierra de niños by Campo, Delia by Pena, Casa Los Jazmines by Armagno, and Historia de las mujeres en Uruguay by Kaganovicius—were selected to receive support from the 2016 Film and Audiovisual Development Fund of the National Film and Audiovisual Directorate (ICAU). In addition, special mentions were awarded to the feature-length fiction films *Colapso* by Bernardo Antonaccio, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies, and *Ana* by Ilan Rosenfeld, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies.
