116 2016 Yearbook Jorge Galaviz, professor in the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Multimedia Design. The documentary *Democratic Governance for Social Cohesion*, for which Galaviz served as artistic director, won the DG Devco Communication Award for Latin America and the Caribbean from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development. February. Pablo Martínez Pessi, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies. His documentary Tus padres volverán was awarded Best Documentary from Latin America at the 3rd Dominican Republic and Caribbean Documentary Film Festival, held in Santo Domingo. March. He also won the Prix du Jury Jeune at the 18th Rencontres du Cinéma Sud-Américain, organized by the Solidarité Provence Amérique du Sud association, which took place in Marseille, France. March. Gustavo Doorman, a graduate of the Audiovisual Production Technician and Digital Animation Technician programs. He won the Graffiti Award for Best Electronic Music Album for his album Wet. September. Guilherme de Alencar Pinto, a professor of Popular Music in the Sound Design Technician program, received a special mention from the jury for the fourth edition of his book Razones locas: Eduardo Mateo’s Journey Through Uruguayan Music. September. The Pardelión Music TV project by Alfonso Guerrero, Marcos Hecht, and Diego Rosenblatt, students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies, and Gabriel Guerrero, a student in the Technical Program in Sound Design, received a special mention from the jury. September. Ilan Rosenfeld, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies, alongside Martín Natalevich.
