65 PROJECTS LAUNCHED OR APPROVED IN 2016 Institutional RIESAL - Regional Network for the Promotion of the Internationalization of Higher Education in Latin America The objective of the RIESAL project is to contribute to improving the institutional capacity of Latin American universities by helping them integrate international cooperation activities. The project is funded by the European Union and coordinated by the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Fourteen universities from Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Italy, Mexico, and Uruguay are participating in the project. Project Leader: Laura Díaz Arnesto Funding: European Union’s Erasmus+ Program Duration: 36 months PONCHO - Internationalization of peripheral universities in Latin America through sustainable integration and the inclusive establishment of International Relations offices The objective of the PONCHO project is to promote the internationalization process of partner Latin American universities, facilitating the transfer of best practices from universities with greater centrality or experience to universities in the most peripheral areas of the Latin American region. The project is coordinated by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain) with funding from the European Union. Twenty-two universities from 13 countries are participating in this project.
