66 2016 Yearbook PROJECTS INITIATED OR APPROVED IN 2016 Sectoral Technology Center for Biotechnological Processes In 2016, work began on the project to establish a Sectoral Technology Center, which was awarded by the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) through a competitive call for proposals in 2015. This Center aims to develop new bioprocesses, including, for example, separation technologies, analytical control, or the improvement of existing processes, as well as strains of natural or genetically modified microorganisms. Project Leader: Carlos Sanguinetti Funding: ANII - Trust Fund comprising Calister, Jardín de Invierno, Jucar, LTA, and Universidad ORT Uruguay : 24 months
