8 2016 Yearbook INSTITUTIONAL NEWS 2016 Dr. Jorge Grünberg was appointed Deputy Chairman of the World ORT Academic Advisory Council World ORT the World ORT General Assembly, World ORT took place from May 22 to 24, 2016, in Jerusalem, the rector, Dr. Jorge Grünberg, was named Deputy Chairman of the Academic Advisory Council (AAC) of World ORT. The Chairman of the AAC is Prof. Sidney Strauss, a scholar at Tel Aviv University, and the Chairman Emeritus is Dr. Dan Shechtman, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and professor at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. A New Chapter for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship After 16 years of promoting entrepreneurship at the university, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) inaugurated its new headquarters, created with the goal of providing a collaborative environment to foster students’ entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. It was inaugurated on June 22, 2016, in the presence of the Mayor of Montevideo, Daniel Martínez, the President of the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), Fernando Brum, entrepreneurs, and university officials. Book Presentation: The Girl Who Watched the Trains Leave On April 7, 2016, Penguin Random House organized the presentation of the book *The Girl Who Watched the Trains Leave* by Ruperto Long in the Delmira Agustini Hall of the Solís Theater. One of the book’s protagonists, the girl of the title, is Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg, Director General of Universidad ORT Uruguay. The book offers a testimony of a period of her childhood in Nazi-occupied France. Writer Hugo Burel reviewed the book, followed by remarks from the author, who spoke about the process that led him to write this “non-fiction novel,” and Prof. Grünberg, who discussed how those years of barbarism affected so many millions of lives, including her own and those of her family.
