Entrepreneurs: Bruno Petcho, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication; Marcelo Sanguinetti, student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication; and Nicolás Ovalle, student in Business Administration at the University of the Republic. Both ventures were selected as finalists for the EmprendO Award, a recognition of inspiring ideas granted by the Café & Negocios supplement of the newspaper El Observador. The finalists were chosen from among the featured articles published in the newspaper, with consideration given to the level of innovation, the venture’s potential, and its impact, as well as the inspirational nature of their stories. Nadim Curi, a graduate of the Master’s in Technology Business Management, CIE entrepreneur, and co-founder of the CityCop venture, and Alejandro Lozdziejski, a graduate of the Systems Engineering program and creator of the startup Sur 3D, were selected by MIT Technology Review as two of the 10 most outstanding innovators under 35 in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Latin America in 2017.
