79 OUTREACH ACTIVITIES 2017 School of Architecture Thirteenth Edition of the “Design Your Room” Contest In August, the School of Architecture, with the support of Radio Disney, organized the thirteenth edition of the “Design Your Room” contest. Thirty-four students in their fifth and sixth years of secondary school from public and private institutions across the country participated. The first-place winner, Tomás Ferrari, a student at the Instituto Preuniversitario de Montevideo, received a full scholarship to study Architecture or a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, and the two second-place winners, Florencia Camaño from the José Pedro Varela National School and Juan Ignacio Castro from Solymar High School No. 1, each received a 40% scholarship to pursue one of these programs. Architecture students carry out construction projects and work at the La Muralla Foundation Students in the Construction Procedures 4 course of the Architecture program carried out practical construction work during the second semester of 2017 at the headquarters of the La Muralla Foundation, an NGO located in Arroyo Seco whose goal is the social inclusion of low-income children and adolescents. Additionally, students in Project 7 of the program designed spaces to bring together cultural, social, educational, and sports activities within the foundation’s building.
