He presented the paper “Controlling the number of active instances in a cloud environment” 14 at the 35th International Symposium on Computer Performance, Modeling, Measurements and Evaluation organized by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) and Columbia University, New York, November 13–17. Dr. Lorena Betancor (Hungary) Research Professor in Biotechnology. Erienne Jackson, B.S. (Hungary) Research Assistant Professor at the Biotechnology Laboratory. They presented the papers “Crude glycerol revalorization in media-free biotransformations” 15 and “A support à la carte: Biomimetic silica-based nanobiocatalysis” 16 at the 13th International Symposium on Biocatalysis and Biotransformations, organized by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Budapest, July 9–13. 14 Conducted in collaboration with Dr. Andrés Ferragut, associate professor of Data Networks at the Faculty of Engineering of Universidad ORT Uruguay; Dr. Fernando Paganini, professor of Telecommunications Theory at the faculty; and Dr. Matthieu Jonckheere, a CONICET researcher at the University of Buenos Aires. 15 Conducted in collaboration with Magdalena Ripoll and Rocío Bravo, graduates of the Biotechnology Engineering program at Universidad ORT Uruguay. 16 Conducted in collaboration with Prof. Sonali Correa, research teaching assistant at the Faculty of Engineering of Universidad ORT Uruguay, and Dr. Valeria Grazú, researcher at the Aragon Institute of Nanoscience at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. Eng. Luis Calabria (Paraguay) Deputy Coordinator of the Simulation and Games Laboratory. He gave a talk on virtual reality applied to education at the second edition of the FestechPY technology event, Asunción, March 4. Dr. Gerardo Matturro (Paraguay) Research Professor in the Department of Software Engineering and Deputy Academic Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Systems. He taught the Requirements Engineering course in the Graduate Program in Information and Communication Technologies at the Polytechnic School of the National University of Asunción, October 16–20. Álvaro Sánchez, Eng. (Paraguay) Associate Professor of Data Networks. He participated as a coordinating peer and evaluator in the national accreditation of the Industrial Engineering program at the National University of Asunción, November 20–22.
