Entrepreneurs: Rodrigo Machado, graduate of the Master’s in Technology Business Management; José Ignacio Ferrari, graduate of Public Accounting, Catholic University of Uruguay; and Rodrigo Saldias, graduate of Agricultural Engineering, Udelar. Made in Me. Entrepreneurs: María Victoria de Miquelerena, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Administration, and Carolina Sacchi, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design. The three startups were selected from among the ten finalists for the Best Startup of the Year award at the 2018 EmprendO Awards, organized by the Café&Negocios supplement of the newspaper El Observador. Made in Me offers, through a web platform, a variety of hand-knitted garment options for users to select and receive the complete kit at home. NudaProp, a technology platform for developing the market for property titles with reserved usufruct, also received recognition for its entrepreneurial spirit, and Como en Casa, a platform that provides pet boarding solutions for owners who must be away from home, was the second most voted-for venture by the public. Helpers. Entrepreneurs: Melanie Czarnievicz and Michel Rubinstein, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Administration. This social network of volunteers that uses technology to save lives in emergencies was the winner in the Latin America category at the fourth edition of the RTVE Emprende Awards, which recognizes individuals and companies that have excelled in their professional fields through excellence and contributions to the values inherent in entrepreneurship. FrameALIVE. Entrepreneur: Diego Piuma, graduate of the Audiovisual Production Technician program. This app, developed by Piuma alongside his Belgian partner Lionel Quataert, allows users to tell stories by combining photos and videos through image recognition. It was selected as one of the eight most innovative tools presented at the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) International Photography Fair.
