166 2018 Yearbook ACTIVITIES OF THE CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (CIE) 2018 Exportable Offerings. Entrepreneurs: Rosina Garagorry, a student in the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies, and Natalia Macri, a former mentor for projects incubated at the CIE. This project, pre-incubated at the CIE, aims to support SMEs by promoting their product offerings to the world. The entrepreneurs conducted research on the importance of ICTs for the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises, which won the First Prize for Export Effort at the 8th Academic Conference organized by the Union of Exporters of Uruguay and the Bank of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay. Magdalena Rodríguez, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. Through her startup GPSGay, incubated at the CIE, she was selected by Facebook to join its Community Leadership programme. Out of a total of 6,000 entrepreneurs, 115 from 46 countries were chosen for their role as leaders promoting positive change in their communities. Facebook provides them with training, support, and funding to achieve greater social impact.
