65 OnCall System: On-Call Rotation Authors: Nicolás Ricciardi and Mariano Urroz Organization: Telefónica Móviles The OnCall System is a project that arose from the need of Telefónica Móviles de Uruguay to automate and manage its on-call rotation system among the various work groups in the Value-Added Services sector of the Technology Division. There are eight groups in the department, each of which must have one designated person to cover the various on-call shifts every day of the year. The objective of the product is to generate on-call schedules for a given period, record changes made to the schedules, and enable access from various types of devices (web and mobile). The project involved the development of a responsive web system, in which the frontend was developed in PHP using HTML, JavaScript, Ajax, and jQuery, based on the Bootstrap framework. System for monitoring and analyzing bat activity around wind turbines Authors: Emiliano Gamboa, Andrés Martínez, and Rodrigo San Nicolás Organization: Tetra Consultores The increase in the use of wind energy in recent years in Uruguay has brought with it environmental challenges that wind farm operators must consider to protect and conserve the surrounding biodiversity, thereby avoiding financial restrictions imposed by international organizations. In this context, there is a need to monitor the nocturnal activity of bats around wind turbines, with the aim of reducing the impact these turbines have on bird mortality. The objective of this project was to develop a system that, through ultrasonic sensors placed on wind turbines, collects information on the nocturnal activity of bats and presents it to the user in the form of graphs, clusters, and heat maps, so that decisions can be made based on activity peaks.
