77 School of Business and Social Sciences Second Edition of The Platform Foundation Award On April 13, the presentation and awards ceremony for the finalists of the second edition of The Platform Foundation Award took place. The event was organized by the Department of Accounting and Taxation of the School of Business and Social Sciences, in collaboration with DERES and The Platform Foundation. This year’s theme was “The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Their Importance for Businesses.” First prize was shared between the Impactors team, consisting of Alejandro Vanrell, CPA, and Virginia Mata, B.A., for their project “The SDGs in Uruguay: Are Businesses and the State Aligned?”, and the Blas González-Vindex team, composed of Jimena Fernández and Verónica Grauert, for their project “The Sustainable Development Goals and Their Importance for Businesses.” In addition, both teams received a special mention from the judging panel, for which they were each awarded a prize of $2,500. School of Architecture “Space of Remembrance at Bait Jadash” Design Competition On March 20, the results of the “Space of Remembrance at Bait Jadash” design competition were announced. The event took place at the headquarters of the New Israelite Congregation (NCI) and was attended by officials from the School of Architecture and the NCI board of directors. The competition was open to students and graduates of the Architecture and Interior Design programs at Universidad ORT Uruguay. At the awards ceremony, the work of three teams composed of second-year students in the Interior Design program was recognized, with one team receiving a first prize and two teams receiving honorable mentions. The first prize went to students Micaela Andrade and Dahiana Valera.
