9 World ORT Delegation Visits Universidad ORT Uruguay delegation of 48 representatives from various countries visited Universidad ORT Uruguay May 9. Among the visitors were World ORT President Dr. Conrad Giles, ORT France President Lucien Kalfon, and ORT Director General Avi Ganon. They were received by the Director General, Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg, who extended a warm welcome and highlighted ORT’s role as a major international network, and by the rector, Dr. Jorge Grünberg. The visitors toured the Centro and Pocitos campuses and visited the Memorial to the Holocaust of the Jewish People alongside Architect Gastón Boero, dean of the School of Architecture and a member of the team of professionals who designed and created the monument. They held discussions with the Minister of Education and Culture, Dr. María Julia Muñoz, who highlighted the importance of Universidad ORT Uruguay its contribution to the development of higher education in our country. They also attended the lectures “The Ceibal Project: History and Future of a Nationwide Educational Technology Initiative,” presented by Miguel Brechner, president of Plan Ceibal; “Uruguay and the Regional Context,” delivered by Isidoro Hodara, academic coordinator of International Trade at the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences; and “Entrepreneurship and Initiatives at ORT Uruguay University,” presented by Enrique Kramer, academic coordinator of International Trade at the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences.
