Their design studio, Ameba, received recognition in the Graphic Design Services sector from the Union of Exporters of Uruguay and Banco República. December. Sofía Battegazzore, professor of Art for Video Games, and Gonzalo Frasca, professor of Video Games. They were recognized by the Inter-American Development Bank for their contributions to the field of video games in the report “Video Games Are Not Just a Game.” September. Likewise, the IDB recognized Universidad ORT Uruguay a pioneer in the video game industry for its Bachelor’s Degree in Animation and Video Games. September. Daniel Scharf, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, was selected to be included in the Golden Pinwheel 2019 illustration catalog from among hundreds of illustrators worldwide, which allowed him to exhibit his work at the Shanghai International Children’s and Youth Book Fair. November. Institutional recognition for Universidad ORT Uruguay Repapel presented the university with an award for the notebook cover designs created by Prof. Gustavo Maca Wojciechowski, associate professor of Editorial and Advertising Design and instructor in the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design program at the School of Communication and Design, alongside Agustina Babic and Sofía Tucci, senior students in that program, and for ORT’s active participation in sorting and recycling efforts. November. Paula Spinatelli, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design program, and Daniela Waldeck, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design program. The projects Capadocia, by Spinatelli, and Llevalo contigo / Mochilas, by Waldeck, were among the six winners of the Aqua Clean UpCycling contest, organized by the company Bemaor and supported by the Centro Diseño University School, the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism at the University of the Republic, and Universidad ORT Uruguay.
