140 2019 Yearbook Dr. Do Man Kim (South Korea) Dean of the Graduate School of International Agricultural Technology, Seoul National University. Mi Sun Park (South Korea) Assistant Professor at the Institute of Bioscience and Green Technology, Center for International Agricultural Development, Seoul National University. They visited the facilities of the Biotechnology Laboratory and the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Center (CBI+I) during their third visit to Uruguay as a South Korean delegation as part of the project “Master Plan and Feasibility Studies for the Creation of a Biotechnology Center for the Agri-Food Industry in Uruguay (2019–2020),” accompanied by Patricia Dante, assistant in the National Plan Implementation Division of the Secretariat for Productive Transformation and Competitiveness. They met with Carlos Sanguinetti, academic coordinator of Biotechnology and director of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Center (CBI+I), Dr. Lorena Betancor, professor of Protein Technology and researcher at CBI+I, Dr. Erienne Jackson, associate professor of Protein Technology, and Dr. Rodrigo Achigar, coordinator of the Biotechnology Laboratory, on July 24. Dr. Enrique Mallada (United States) Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Johns Hopkins University. Graduate in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad ORT Uruguay. He delivered the lecture “Frequency Regulation in Low-Inertia Power Grids,” May 22. Dr. Enrique Gerstl (Israel) Vice President of Engineering at Synamedia, a software development company for the television industry. He delivered the lectures “The Great Technological Transformation in the World of Television” and “Technological Development in Israel: What Is Its Secret?”, July 30 and 31. Dr. Regina Golan-Gerstl (Israel) Director of the Pediatric Laboratory at the Hadassah Medical Organization, Jerusalem. She delivered the lecture “Nutrigenomics – the secret of milk,” organized by the Department of Biotechnology of the School of Engineering and the Biotechnology Center for Research and Innovation (CBI+I), August 21. Dr. Maribel Fernández (United Kingdom) Professor in the Department of Computer Science at King’s College London. She visited the School of Engineering with funding from the National Agency for Research and Innovation’s (ANII) Program for Engagement with Scientists and Technologists Abroad, where she conducted research and participated in the workshop on Nominal Techniques and Formalized Meta-theory with members of the Chair of Computer Theory in the Master’s in Engineering (Research Track), October 14–25.
