He taught the course “Fundamentals of Analytical Methods for Big Data” as part of the Specialization Diploma in Big Data Analytics, from April to July and September to November. Dr. Leandro Lombardi (Argentina) Lead consultant for the Data Science Program at the Sadosky Foundation for ICT Research and Development. He taught a theoretical-practical class on recommendation algorithms in the Big Data Workshop of the Specialization Diploma in Big Data Analytics, October 14. Dr. Miguel Pagano (Argentina) Adjunct professor at the National University of Córdoba. He visited the School of Engineering with funding from the Basic Sciences Development Program (Pedeciba), where he conducted research and participated in the workshop on Nominal Techniques and Formalized Meta-theory with members of the Computer Theory Chair of the Master’s in Engineering (Research Track), October 21–24. Dr. Jean Hauck (Brazil) Professor of Software Engineering at the University of Southern Santa Catarina. He served as an external examiner for final projects in Systems Engineering and the Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, April 22–30. Dr. Gabriel Teixeira Landi (Brazil) Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of São Paulo. Visited the School of Engineering to work in the field of quantum computing research with Dr. Efrain Buksman, associate professor of physics, and Dr. André Fonseca, academic coordinator of Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering, May 6–9. He delivered the lecture “The Arrow of Time in the Quantum Realm,” May 8. Dr. Dan Nicolau (Canada) Professor of Bioengineering at McGill University. Dr. Valeria Grazú (Spain) Principal Investigator at the Aragón Institute of Materials Science at the University of Zaragoza. They taught the course “Nanobiotechnology: Factors Affecting the Preparation of Nanodevices and Their Application,” with financial support from the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), along with Dr. Lorena Betancor, Professor of Protein Technology at the Faculty of Engineering and researcher at the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Center (CBI+I), and Dr. Eduardo Méndez, Associate Professor at the Biomaterials Laboratory of the University of the Republic, October 7–11.
