74 2019 Yearbook: International Animation Festival - FIA 19 The Academic Coordination of Animation organized the 13th edition of the International Animation Festival (FIA 19) from September 18 to 20. More than 600 short films participated from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Estonia, France, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Martinique, Mexico, Moldova, Nigeria, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and Vietnam. The Grand Jury Prize went to the short film 400 MP, directed by Paul-Eugene Dannaud, Julia Chaix, and Lorraine Desserre (France), which also won Best Short Film in the Student Category. The Best Experimental Short Film award went to Muedra, directed by César Díaz Martínez (Spain). The award for Best Uruguayan Short Film went to Pájaros, by Erik Berlin. Best Uruguayan Short Film in the Student Category went to On the Fence, by María Noel Bonjour and Lucía Mostarda, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Animation and Video Games. Best Advertising Short/Music Video went to Wild Horses, by Maxime Dupuy and Kevin Roualland (France). The Best Animated Short Film was *Maestro*, by the production company Illogic (France). Social Media Day Uruguay On October 3, the seventh edition of the *Social Media Day Uruguay* seminar took place, organized by Antel and the School of Communication and Design. Speakers from Uruguay and abroad analyzed how quickly machines are learning about us, and the need for people to learn better. The event, which brought together nine national and international speakers, was attended by more than 500 people. OUTREACH ACTIVITIES 2019
