102 2020 Yearbook AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS 2020 Liliana Farber, a graduate of the Bachelor of Graphic Design program. She won the Lumen Prize in the Photography category for her work *Terram in aspectu*. October. Additionally, her work was one of 34 selected for the 59th Margaret Whyte National Visual Arts Award, organized by the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture. The works will be exhibited at the Contemporary Art Space of the National Directorate of Culture. October. Alfonso Lourido, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. His illustration work Unidos won first prize in the Children’s and Youth Narrative category of the 7th Uruguay Illustration Award, organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture. November. Additionally, the series La roca y el mar produced by his production company Carajito Films, received a special mention at Filmarket Hub’s Latam Online Pitchbox, placing it among the top 10 TV series in development across all of Latin America. The project was created and written in collaboration with Marcio Migliorisi. September. Additionally, he was selected to participate as an illustrator in the Illustrator Wall section of the virtual edition of the 2020 Bologna Children’s Book Fair, one of the world’s most renowned events for children’s and young adult literature, with his image “La llegada de las ballenas” from his illustrated book *El buzo amarillo*. May. Furthermore, he was one of 80 artists selected worldwide to participate in the Kaunas Illustration Biennial 2020 in Lithuania, as the sole representative from Uruguay. October. In turn, his series of illustrations “Office Depths” was one of five proposals selected in the illustration contest for Mario Benedetti’s book *Poemas de la oficina*, organized by Uruguay’s National Directorate of Culture as part of the tributes marking the centennial of the births of Idea Vilariño, Mario Benedetti, and Julio C. Da Rosa. August. Diego Piuma, a graduate of the Audiovisual Production Technician program and founder of FrameALIVE, a startup that graduated from the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He was the winner of the second edition of Pasaporte Emprendedor, a program organized by Endeavor Uy, the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), and the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU), aimed at technology-based startups seeking to expand internationally. As a reward, Piuma received invitations to participate in an accelerator program in Silicon Valley (United States). November. Tomer Urwicz, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a professor in the same program. He was part of the team that produced the report “Transnational Faith,” which won the 37th edition of the Ortega y Gasset Journalism Awards in the category of Best Story or Investigative Journalism. Journalists from 16 media outlets worked on the project, coordinated by María Teresa Ronderos of the Latin American Center for Investigative Journalism and Giannina Segnini of Columbia Journalism Investigations. From Uruguay, journalists Mathías Da Silva and Urwicz from the newspaper El País contributed to the investigation. November. Rubén Rosenzweig, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Animation and Video Games and a faculty member in the same program. He received one of the twelve 2020 Beatrice Wand-Polak Educators Awards, given to individuals recognized for their contribution to education and the promotion of the principles upon which World ORT was founded.
