He delivered the virtual seminar “Envisaging petroleum-free biorefineries” as part of the Web#Biotecort Biotechnology Seminar Series, organized by the Chair of Protein Technology in the Department of Biotechnology, on September 15. Prof. Francisco J. Plou (Spain) Research scientist at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry - CSIC, Madrid. He delivered the virtual seminar “Transformation of carbohydrate-rich waste into high value-added products using enzymes” as part of the Web#Biotecort Biotechnology Seminar Series, organized by the Chair of Protein Technology in the Department of Biotechnology, on November 3. Dr. Alejandro Bia (Spain) Vice Dean of Business Statistics at Miguel Hernández University in Elche and researcher at the university’s Center for Operations Research. He holds a Master’s degree in Computing and Information Systems from Universidad ORT Uruguay. He conducted joint research activities with the Chair of Information Systems at the Faculty of Engineering of Universidad ORT Uruguay , from November 30 to March 4, 2021. Dr. Natalia Romero (United States) Senior Research and Development Scientist in the Cell Analysis Division at Agilent Technologies in Lexington, Massachusetts. She delivered the virtual seminar “Bioenergetic Metabolism: The Engine Driving Cell Function and How to Study It in Real Time” as part of the Biotechnology Seminar Series Web#Biotecort, organized by the Protein Technology Chair of the Department of Biotechnology, on May 8.
