49 Universidad ORT Uruguay 14th Student Conference" On September 21, the School of Engineering organized the "14th Student Conference," which featured lectures and presentations of academic business projects. As part of these conferences, the “11th ORT Programming Contest” and the “6th ICT Job Fair” took place. The top two winners of the contest represented the university in the Latin American Final of the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Programming Contest, which took place in Buenos Aires on November 5. Meanwhile, 20 companies and organizations participated in the job fair, presenting their job opportunities and interviewing potential candidates for their hiring processes. Robotics Applied to Secondary Education (RAES) The School of Engineering organized the “Robotics Applied to Secondary Education” (RAES) competition for the fourth consecutive year. The objective of this activity, which took place on October 15 at IAVA High School No. 35 in Montevideo, is to promote new technologies among young people through a day of group work on the LEGO Mindstorms NXT robotics development platform. Meanwhile, on August 27, the competition was held at Liceo No. 2 in Carmelo, organized by CTC Colonia, and on September 9 at the Municipal Campus in Maldonado, organized by CTC – CEI Maldonado. The RAES project is coordinated by André Fonseca, Ph.D., Professor of Automatic Control, with the collaboration of Gonzalo de León, Ismael Rodríguez, and Emiliano Zapata, students of Electronic Engineering.
