50th Annual Report 2012: Robotics Applied to Secondary Education (RAES) For the fifth consecutive year, the School of Engineering organized the “Robotics Applied to Secondary Education” (RAES) competition, which took place on October 5 at the La Mennais Institute in Montevideo. The second round took place on September 29 at Liceo No. 1 in Colonia, organized by the CTC Technological Institute of Colonia and funded by the ANII (National Agency for Research and Innovation). The RAES project is coordinated by André Fonseca, Ph.D., Professor of Automatic Control, with the collaboration of Gonzalo de León, Ismael Rodríguez, and Emiliano Zapata, students in the Electronics Engineering program, www.ort.edu.uy/raes, Faculty of Communication and Design Recreation '12 Recreation is an academic space for collaboration with companies, which brings together, under the Integrative Project, proposals from final-year students in the Bachelor’s programs in Graphic, Industrial, and Fashion Design, through a product created in partnership with a company. In this edition, 41 companies participated, for which 65 projects were carried out. Some of the participating companies and institutions include: Gabriela Mistral School and High School, Bayer Laboratories, Infocorp, Museum of Pre-Columbian and Indigenous Art, Disco Supermarkets, and Voluntarios en Red-Uruguayan Jewish Community.
