May. Carolina Campo Graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication. The documentary “Las flores de mi familia,” co-produced by the graduate, won the “Best Latin American Film Award” at the 16th edition of the “Santiago International Documentary Film Festival” in Chile. July. Carolina Campo, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication; Gerardo Castelli, Academic Coordinator of Audiovisual Studies. The documentary “El hombre congelado,” directed by Campo and produced by Castelli, won an award in the “Documentary” category at the “17th edition of the Fund for the Promotion and Development of National Audiovisual Production” (FONA). October. The documentary also received a special mention in the “Feature-Length Documentary” category in the first call for proposals from the Film Promotion Fund for the production of audiovisual content. April. Additionally, it received a mention in the “Feature-Length Documentary” category at the “Montevideo Socio Audiovisual” awards organized by the Municipality of Montevideo. This funding program provides support for the start of filming. October. Oscar Estévez, Graduate in Audiovisual Production. He directed the documentary series “Community Heroes,” which won the “2012 Rocky Mountain Emmy” for “Best Documentary Program of Human Interest.” The series consists of twelve episodes featuring real-life protagonists from three countries. It is produced by Mediapolis and Brigham Young University. The “Rocky Mountain Emmys” are awarded by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the United States. October.
